Charge 5 not reliable as it last less than 14 months for me and my region only cover 1 year

After start using the charge 5 since Jan/2022, thought the device can last 3-5 years but unfortunately it last less than 14 months and start malfunction on heart rate and step count. No heart reading (No green light) step count keep counting till reach 70,436 step & 51.93KM per day which i assume that the max per day.

 

After read through online only realise Fitbit usually last for 14 to 18 months before replacement.

Customer service said warranty is over so offer 35% discount which I don't think I will waste my hard earn money to buy a watch that can't last more than 2 years!

My Charge 5 doesn't work anymore either...I bought it in 2021. I just went through customer service chat...He agreed it is not working and nothing he can do...we will have to look at the warranty (their one year warranty) so basically he is saying that I a Fitbit customer since 2011 or 2012 and a Fitbit Premium user that has only had the product for 2 years is screwed and has to spend more money on replacing it myself. Subpar product, horrible customer service (the first time I was chatting the rep closed the chat on me while I was typing all the issues I have been having with my charge 5 the last month and a half up until this black screen today because he was too impatient to wait for me) and ridiculous that so many people are having the same problems with the same product. Seems to me the product was made that way to only work through the warranty to have to make people spend more money on replacing the products. I am going to have to research other products and other companies!

Mine started with the alarm no longer going off in the mornings, then it wouldn't sync to the app unless I manually did it, then it would change the date on it's own to a future date, now it is a dead black screen and because I have owned it for two years it is no longer under warranty and I have to purchase a new one, even though the forum is full of their product having these problems....Its bull and I am really angry and frustrated.
