Charge 5 not responding, doesn't show the 4 digit number after app finds the device

I managed to set up Charge 5 once I received, it went ok but when trying to update (not sync) after configuring the device, it didn't went through...the screen kept showing the initial updated progress but it doesn't finished entirely, moving back to the start updating showing in the app. I tried this for several times, also tried with the device charging but it didn't work out

Then, all of a sudden, the device was not even showing the 4 digit number anymore. I can reset, it shows the fitbit logo but then nothing appears on the screen, thus I am not being able to set up/sync in the device to the app. The app finds the device, it starts the connection phase, it connects, bluetooth shows connected but the device does not show the 4 digit (actually it doesn't show anything in the screen anymore, regarless I try tapping and sliding the fingers).

@fpaulella try these options

  1. Delete bluetooth profile of the fitbit from the bluetooth settings of your phone.
  2. In the fitbit app: make sure the Charge 5 is not listed: click your avatar(upper left from today screen) > if it is click the device and select remove
  3. Force close app on your smartphone and shutdown smartphone
  4. On Fitbit Charge 5 goto: settings > scroll to and select "device info" > scroll to and select "clear user data"
  5. Wait for fitbit reset to finish
  6. Boot smart phone and open fitbit app 
  7. Click avatar and select Set up a Device

I had/have the same problem. Actually I called support with the same problem and at the end they sent me a replacement that I just received yesterday. I started to update and happented the same as with the first one. I am not sure if it was a sign or else but I won't call support again and just return the unreliable, useless trash back to Amazon. Sorry for my temper. 

 

I think you should call their support line as well, wait for the replacement and if the same happens just gave it up and buy something else. I don't think it's worth the frustration and effort to suffer.

Sorry but your solution won't work. The screen won't even switch on so how can you go in setting on the Charge 5? It's illogical.

Thanks you for your advice, I really appreciate it but unfortunately still not working. Even after the 100th time what after a whole day trying and failing, even trying to reset 3 times in a row. Actually I think it just became worst. Sorry.

Fitbit Charge 5, the device doesn't turn on so option 4 can't be done.
