Charge 5 not showing hourly steps on phone app, but on device okay 8 of 8

So i have my Fitbit set for 8 hours of 250+ steps, so on my Fitbit 5 it shows that I completed 8 of  8, but on my Iphone 13 it only shows 5 of 8. Also wasn't recording my heartrate zones. Steps was accurate on watch and Iphone, so it's not a bluetooth issue. Anyone?

Hi, welcome to the Community forums, @Hyspeed

Thank you for sharing that you've been having this issue with your hourly steps.

If you haven't done so already, please give a try to the following steps that have been useful for other users with similar problems:

  1. Remove your Charge 5 from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Go to your phone's settings, tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage > Clear Cache.
  3. Go back one screen, tap Force Stop the Fitbit app (instructions may vary depending on the phone you have).
  4. Reboot your phone.
  5. Log back into your account.
  6. Pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  7. If you're still having this problem, please try setting up your Charge 5 as a new device in your account.

Hope this helps, I'll be around.

Can’t do this because Storage is not an option in Fitbit app.

This happened to me mid-day yesterday.

@MVP2 Thank you for your reply.

The option to clear cache should be on the phone's settings and not directly on the Fitbit app. If you don't see this option available, let me know if you're able to complete the rest of the troubleshooting steps and if you continue to experience the same problem afterwards.

Thank you. Without my doing anything, it started showing hourly steps again. I’m mystified (and annoyed, except this one was positive) by the things this device decides to do on its own. It’s latest decision is to no longer show the little maps of my walks/runs. Not crucial but I kind of liked those. Reminders to move I do like but they’re unreliable. More…
But thanks for helping.

@MVP2 Thank you for sharing that you've been experiencing this problem with your maps.

If you're still having trouble with the app not showing you the correct information, please repeat the following steps that are usually helpful with app related issues:

  • Log out from the app.
  • Restart your phone.
  • Log back in to check if you're able to see the maps.
  • Try a restart and set up your Charge 5 as a new device in your account if you're still having the same problem.

Regarding the reminders to move that are not always working,

make sure this feature is turned on following these steps:

  • On the Today tab, tap the hourly activity tile.

  • Tap the gear icon > turn Reminders to Move on or off.

If the feature is already turned on, you can also try changing the time when you can receive reminders to move. You can change the hours or days of the week that you track your hourly activity goal (for example, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays). You can find more information in this article

In the meantime, make sure the Do Not Disturb Mode and the Sleep Mode features are turned off, as these features prevent the device from vibrating and receiving notifications, reminders and goal celebrations.

Hope this helps, I'll be around.
