I bought a new fit bit charge 5 couple of days back. It seems to have the same issue I had with charge 3. I run on my treadmill every day and I track it on my fit bit. When I set my activity as treadmill, my heart rate drops to below 85, this is when I am running or walking fast. I tried various wrist positions and other stuff, this issue persisted. However, when I set my activity as run, but I still do it on my treadmill, heart rate gets tracked accurately, ranging between 110-120.
I bought a new fit bit precisely for this reason so that it will be more accurate, but to my dismay, the issue remains. I am just a bit disappointed and wonder if there is any technological upgrade to the device from the previous versions or is it just cosmetic?

@Saratvamsi Hi there. Thank you for sharing details on what you're experiencing.
I appreciate the troubleshooting performed prior to posting.
Let's try restarting your Charge 5 and make sure during exercise, wear your device a bit tighter and higher for an improved fit. The band should be snug but not constricting (a tight band restricts blood flow, potentially affecting the heart-rate signal). Many exercises such as bike riding or weight lifting cause you to bend your wrist frequently, which could interfere with the heart-rate signal if the watch is lower on your wrist. May I know if you've experienced this with any other activity?
Hope this helps.

Yah. I think it is an issue with the treadmill activity. I use run instead. Not a deal breaker for me. But someone needs to look into this.
