Charge 5 - quick battery drain followed by black screen- wont restart

Reading through the Community- the black screen seems to be a common problem, unfortunately the troubleshooting steps (push the button 3 x)  haven't resolved the issue, and I was offered a discount on a new device.  The device is only 15 months old and I really liked the features, but not really interested in a "disposable" tracker, and will look at other brands for a replacement.

 

Fitbit- there is a problem...

Are you kidding me? Every time they come out with a new version, the old one suddenly stops working. I'm absolutely sick of this. I can feel it vibrating, because it's connected to my cell phone, but there's no screen visual. Did I read correctly that I need my charger in order to "reset" it?

My Fitbit charge 5 battery start to drain very quickly.  Tried to restart, erase data, uninstall apps, none works. This device only last 4 months. To replace the battery require a lot of work. I hav difficult to remove the face mask of the device. Any suggestions?

tracks steps, syncs, screen will not light up, cannot change watch face, as they ask, battery goes from full to dead in 3 hours, sitting on my desk or on my wrist.

If you're still under warranty return it for a replacement... eventually it
will stop charging completely.

Mine never worked again, was a few months out of warranty, so I moved on to an Apple Watch.
