My charge 5 is recording two walks completely differently. I did a 42 min walk today and burnt 249 calories with 41 zone minutes vs a 31 min walk on Saturday and burnt 274 calories with 22 zone minutes. Also the walk today has different items in the image e.g no duration or calories burnt. See images below. I've resent the charge 5, resented it to the app but still the same issue. How can this be fixed or am I doing something wrong?

This might not explain it all, but I expect the 2 walks were recorded differently.
For me at least, I get the display like your top one with the distance and pace when I record the walk via the Exercise App.
I get the display like your lower one with time and calories when a walk is auto-recognized. You can still see some the other data when you tap a display to see more detail, though I guess not pace or distance on auto-recognized walks. I don't know why this is, whether intentional or not, but using the on-wrist Exercise App is the way to see distance and pace. All I can imagine is that it starts keeping better details right away with the Exercise App, whereas with auto-recognized, it doesn't know until 15 minutes in that it is going to be considered a workout.
To understand the calories burned, I would look at the Heart Rate and Energy Burned charts for each by tapping the above display to see more details.

Hi Paul,
i think one walk has been detected automatically and the other (with the higher calories) was started manually by you on the watch. In the latter case it uses gps and measures heart rate more frequently (thus more precise) per minute. That can lead to a difference in recorded cals. as well.

Thank you for the reply but I did not start the exercise by selecting it on the device both were auto recognised. In addition I tracked both via Strava which gave consistent results for both walks with the longer walk using more calories. I will try starting each recording using selecting it via the device rather than auto recognise and see what happens

I don't use Strava so no idea how that affects things.

As far as I understand cals burnt depends on your heart rate. Strava should not have an effect on that. However, just like Johnny I do not have much experience with Strava.

Thank you for your help.i think I've concluded from the repliez to my question that Strava exercise tracking is wrong as it does take into account heart rare. Thank you for your help.
