Whenever I go for a slightly faster walk, my Charge 5 registers it as a run and kicks on my GPS tracker. None of my previous fitbits (have had most of the Charge family over the years) have registered my walks as runs before. It's quite annoying. Has anyone else found how to fix this?

Hello @TSruns and welcome to the Community. Fitbit's SmartTrack doesn't say what the pace cut off is between walk and run auto-recognition. And there is no way we can tell if Fitbit ever changed it with newer models. I don't know if you will ever get a good answer as to why your fast walks now show up as runs. But I can help you with the part about the GPS coming on. The Charge 5 has a Run Detect feature within the Run exercise settings. I'm not sure when it was added to the Charge series, but I know it is on the original Versa. I don't have a Charge 5 on my account right now, so these instructions are coming from the Charge 5 manual (p 38-39). Choose Run on your Charge 5 exercise app, then swipe up to customize the settings. Look for Run Detect or words like that and toggle it to off. It is on by default and that's how I found it on my Versa. Your fast walks might still show up as runs, but I see this as a limitation in Fitbit's programming. You can always re-categorize a misnamed exercise. SmartTrack isn't always as smart as Fitbit believes it is.
