Charge 5 restart freezes and produces black screen

My charge 5 keeps crashing when I restart it . Ive tried to use the power cane and press the button a few times as instructed but its still doing it. It also cant make its mind up about the charge as it changes. I can full charge it then it drops straight down to 78 percent.

Thank you for sharing the information with me regarding your Charge 5. 

Please, confirm that you are restarting the device as indicated here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times within 8 seconds, holding each press for about 1 second.
  3. Wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
  4. If the device doesn’t restart, wait 15 seconds to try again.

In addition, try to change the clock face. 

Besides that, follow the steps listed here in case the battery is draining too fast and the recommendations in this article in case the device is not charging properly.
