Charge 5 screen frozen on the Fitbit logo

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 5 froze on Sat June 8th, after charging it. Froze, when I touch the screen, it only shows the Fitbit logo or the date/time it froze. I cannot connect with Bluetooth either.

Tried to reset, via "Settings" - nothing, pressing the charger button 3 times - nothing. AND tried reinstalling the Fitbit app.

All that happened is that the screen started flashing the logo and the wristband started vibrating.

Suggestions?

Hi there, @Hanskrho. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is still stuck on the Fitbit logo. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Since your Charge 5 is only showing the Fitbit logo,
please try the steps below in the order listed. Important: Please be aware that most Fitbit devices store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you wait longer than 7 days before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data. Summary data (calories, distance, steps, and floors) will be stored for 30 days. Nevertheless, if your Fitbit device was unpaired from your Fitbit account during this period of time, neither the 7 days can be recovered or restored.

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Hi, I have the same logo freeze on my Charge 5. I have tried the above method and also resetting the device but it is not working, What else can I do?

I'm having something similar.  After having just the logo screen on the display and following the steps to reset the watch, now it's been a blank screen since yesterday.  Nothing appears to be working.  App is not able to locate watch.  Last time it sync was 19 hours ago.  Any help would be appreciated.

Mine has been doing the same since Thursday. It's my second Charge 5. I have given up on it because this is the typical Fitbit user experience. There's always some unexplained update or sync issue that turns the Charge 5 into a paperweight. You can get a replacement under warranty if it is less than a year old. However, they typically fail at the 14 month mark based on my experience. Customer service may off you a coupon off a new one if you are out of warranty, but I'm not sure why anyone would keep buying a device that won't last much more than a year.

Looks like my device has recovered, hope it's ok for you too.

I have just faced this issue. It was working fine till a while ago and now nothing just the Fitbit Logo lighting up. It's frozen that way.

After a day of use I came back to the problem. Now the display has gone crazy.

My 5 is doing the same thing.  Based on the replies below,  this looks like a bug on your end.  Worth exploring.

Going on day 6 and still nothing has changed no matter how many times I attempt the 3 button process.  I can feel the watch vibrating,  so it's acknowledging the reset, but nothing on the screen.  Feel like hitting it with a hammer to end hope that it will return.

Thank you for the reply. However, it has not helped. The Charge doesnt sync with my phone, does not register movement and empties the battery in a few hours It doesnt respond to either of the suggested methods of restarting it.

I have the same problem.  It is frozen at this screen now.  It has been like this for 5 hours.  All the recommendations above have not worked for me.20240702_231121.jpg

That is the same one I was looking at.

I have had the Charge HR, Charge 4, and Charge 5. Unfortunately, it seems
like the quality has decreased with the newer models. 😞 They do not last
as long. The warranty policy is also kind of worse since the Charge HR
days. I was able to have that tracker for 4 years! And when the straps
broke twice, Fitbit sent me a refurbished one even though I was out of
warranty.

Fitbit did give me a coupon for my troubles with my Charge 5, but it is
still expensive considering the features we get and the amount of time the
product lasts. I was able to get a student discount with the Garmin Venu
Sq for 20% off, and it was STILL cheaper than the price of the Versa from
Fitbit with the discount. The Venu Sq also had more features.

I really like the Fitbit interface, but I am disappointed in how the
product quality has changed.

My mom still has Fitbit, and it is great for her. As someone who has a
variety of fitness routines and goals, I need a product that will last me
years. I will try something different and then see if I can come back to
Fitbit if they have improved in a few years. 😞

Hi , Have recently had the same issues with watch frozen on logo . Followed all above advice several times ! After 3rd attempt watch appeared ok . 15 min later back to frozen screen. Repeated whole processes again . Deleting apps , Bluetooth conections . Switched off phone Etc. Phone then came back to life and started syncing with phone.

However after wearing for 10 min reverted to fitbit logo again. Took watch off. Checked battery level with the charger lead still 98% . Left watch and 30 min later was back to normal .Have worn it over night and still working .

So ,not sure why but would seem several repeats of deleting apps etc may be the answer.
