I used my Charge 5 yesterday for the first time during a bike ride and I noticed that after I had it start tracking the ride I was unable to get back to the home screen so the whole time I was riding all I could see were the statistics of the ride and not the clock. Is this normal or is there a way to get back to the home screen during a ride?

Hello @papedaler
You can't return to the home screen during an exercise but, if you tap the little arrow at the bottom of the screen during your bike ride, the central stats shown change. They cycle through: kph, kph avg, heart rate, calories and then the day and time, then km, elapsed time, zone minutes and then back to kph.
I hope that helps a bit.

The problem I have when cycling and using the device is the inability pause the session. This impacts the accuracy of average speed. Very problematic during a coffee stop. Am I missing something or is this capability not available.
I also use a Garmin cycle computer. It is a focused device for my activity but at least it will pause when the GPS senses a drop in speed below 3 mph.

Thanks for the tip, the screen with the date and time was just what I wanted.

I didn't have any trouble with pausing when I stopped, my problem was starting again. If you swipe down from the bike screen you get a big pause button, when you hit that the device stops recording. The problem is that to start it up again you hit the pause button again, but three times I ended up hitting the Finish button which signaled the ride was over. As a result my 72 mile bike ride showed up as three separate rides. I swear that the Finish button is triggered if you even look at it.

Hello again @papedaler
I reach the pause button by swiping up. It IS really hard not to touch the Finish button when you want to resume. Below the Finish button is the Return button that takes you back to your exercise session.
I highly recommend you practice swiping to it when you’re just sitting around at home as there seems to be a knack to it. You can then erase your exercise records for 1 minute bike rides and it won’t affect your real stats for the day.
I hope that helps!
