Charge 5 screen not working|

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I plugged my Charge 5 to its original cable after it ran out of battery, and after that it never turned on again. It still vibrates when I plug it on but that´s pretty much the only response the watch has to any stimulus, it doesn't even sync anymore. I've been using it for almost a year.

I've charged the watch for long periods of time multiple times but the screen never turn on, not even to show the battery percentage. I've already tried everything in this forum, from using different cables to resetting it.

Huge number of reports on Screen periodically going black - which my Charge 5 started to do periodically.  See for example:  https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-5/Charge-5-screen-not-working/td-p/5601733#:~:text=Jfeen82,-S....

I tried ALL recommended hacks including charge cable reset, changing clock face, charging phone, etc. etc.

The phone (tied to app) IS recording steps, etc. BUT the screen will not come back reliably.  It will periodically reappear for a short period and then go black again.

Very frustrated by experience and just about ready to send this Now Piece of Chunk back to google/fitbit.

Hello @diegomur & @MLorenat

If you've had your Charge 5 for under a year, you should contact Support (<-- click link) to see what are your options under warranty. Complete the prompts until you get the option to chat or call.

Mine did all of this too 2 months ago, I gave up. I now just tried another charger today, no luck. I had also cleaned the chargers and the watch charge port.

Mine responded to the reset I just learnt about with the vibrate and blue dots, but the screen then went dead. Then I checked to see if it was sinking, nothing was showing on the app. I tapped the device lock option on the app, which was disabled. It tried to connect, but kept looping.

I then tried to reset again over and over consecutively, suddenly it showed the charge amount. I thought it was empty but it actually must've been charging 2 months ago! It was 57% full. I double tapped the screen and it's now showing everything, is syncing and it's updated the software too.

I'd just keep doing the reset, it may eventually respond. Good luck.
