Hey guys, just wondering if anyone had this issue and was able to help. It happened while I was out playing sports so I brought it home and connected it to the charger thinking I can restart it that way but didnt work and the X is back. Please, send help, just bought this not too long ago 😔

Hi, @Phillinhot , the dreaded big red X suggests that it has somehow seriously got itself confused.  I would suggest first trying a restart .  Try it 2 or 3 times, but I am guessing it will fail.

Next I would try setting up your Fitbit as a replacement.  Go to your Fitbit app, on the front page click on the person icon/ photo then on the next screen scroll to + set up a device .  Choose Charge 5.  You will get a message saying you already have a Charge 5, do you want to replace it?  Say yes and follow the instructions from there.

If your app can’t find your Charge 5, give it another restart and try again.

If all this still fails, please let the Fitbit battery die completely, then recharge and try again.

If after all that it still doesn’t work get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.Fitbit.com.

You can, of course get in touch with them straight away, but they will probably ask you to try the steps I have suggested, so you might want to try them first to save time.

Good luck!  Let us know how it goes.

I have just tried the above steps as my fitbit also has the dreaded big white x in the red circle.

I am hoping that if I let the battery run flat it may wake up again.

I've already replaced my ionic due to the recall (mine was one of the ones that blew up) and I'm not looking forward to having to replace this one as well.

I'll contact Customer Support as well and see what they say, it also does not seem to respond to me pressing the button on the charging cable.

Thank you
