Charge 5 screen went black

When I went to bed, I had 42% power on my charge 5. When I woke up, the screen was totally black and it will not respond to any action that I take, including all of the suggestions in the help center using the charging cord. What should I try now?

Yes, I followed all suggested instruction and also tried to restart it, but had no success. I have never had a problem with charging it in the past and it has never gone totally black before. I find it most puzzling since the battery was at 42% prior to this happening and I did not receive a low battery warning.
