Suddenly the screen on my Fitbit stopped working so i assumed that the battery had died (even though I hadn't got a notification) so I put it on the charger and didn't notice if the charge screen came up or not. After overnight on the charger it still didn't 'turn on' the display although the sensors on the back were lighting up as if it were working. I was able to sync to the fitbit and found that it was still collecting data if I had it on regardless of the screen not displaying anything.
I have tried all the reset/restart and change clock faces troubleshooting tips to no avail. 1 day later it stopped showing any charge when I tried to sync to it and putting it on the charger for 2 more days and still no charge indicated. If I restart it with the charging cable button then still no screen but it does vibrate and then I can sync to it for a second from the app but then it changes to 'Looking'.
I bought the fitbit through Amazon.ca on May 9th, 2023 so it's only been 5 months and it died. Should still be well in the warranty period. I like the Charge 5 (when it works) otherwise.
Any other ideas besides beating it with a large hammer (which I'm sure would void said warranty)?

Since it looks like you've already tried the recommended troubleshooting steps without success, you probably should contact Fitbit support, especially since your device is less than a year old.

Same issue here. Black screen even after the restart process (3 pushes). It’s keep happening to me witch each iteration of firbit I owns charge. This is ridiculous. Please help me and solve this issue soon.

I’m having the same issues, mine stopped working on Monday the 9th of October. The screen went all white and then shut down. I’ve tried everything to get it to work with no success. I’m very frustrated- this is my 3rd Fitbit device and I never had an issue until Google took over. Mine is dead now, when I try to charge it, the logo comes up and the screen flashes white and then shuts down again. Every once in a while the charging screen will pop up and say it’s at 1% but then shuts down without charging.

Update for Me.... after contacting Customer Service and going through all the steps it was deemed that my Fitbit needed to be replaced and was under warranty so they would give me a replacement. The email I then received offered me a replacement Charge 5 OR 50% off the purchase of any other Fitbit product (but what it doesn't tell you is Charge 6 and a few other models aren't eligible). So I went and ordered the replacement and it just came yesterday via UPS. It is only the Fitbit module itself in a pouch with no straps or charger so make sure you keep your originals.
I charged it up full... connected it to my phone and let it sync all the apps, etc. It's been almost 24 hours and no issues so far. Still holding it's charge and counting my steps , etc. I haven't seen any Sleep or O2 stuff yet but as I recall that kicks in after a day or two of monitoring.
Fingers crossed it keeps tickin'. Good luck to all else who are experiencing the same issue.

My charge 5 did this too,black screen and sometimes I can see the logo. Its so sad! 😭
