Tried the reset options. The battery level is also good. The screen comes up but once disconnected from the charger, the screen goes blank. Have this device with me since 2016. This is the first time I am seeing this issue. What should I try next?

I have managed to fix the dark screen issue. I reverted the clock to the default clock face that came with the product. That did the trick.

Hi @avinash05, welcome to the forums. Glad to know that you managed to get it solved.
Good to see you back @Lion11.
Thank you for providing the information regarding this difficulty with your Charge 5.
Please try to sync the device in the Fitbit app:
Now, restart the device as indicated here: How do I restart my Fitbit device. Restarting the device will not delete your data.
If restarting doesn't resolve the issue, change your clock face. If you manage to solve the difficulty you can go back to the original clock face.
If you after performing those steps are still having difficulties, please follow the steps listed in this help article: How do I update my Fitbit device?
