After a software update today, I noticed battery was at 100% yesterday. All of a sudden it showed it was at 0%. There is a 4 hour difference also. I uninstalled the app. Rebooted my phone and reinstalled Fitbit app. When syncing, it tells me that app is needed for Bluetooth connectivity. My fitbit is missing gear icon and battery level. My fitbit has limited info in settings. I can't even shut off my fitbit. I was thinking of upgrading before this. Now I will go with a different fitness app if this can't be resolved.

Hi there, @Anita-z. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear about the issues with your Charge 5. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
As per the description of your post, it sounds like your Charge 5 is not paired to your Fitbit account, that would explain why the time if off and why you cannot see the gear icon or battery level. To make sure your Fitbit device has recently synced or that it's still paired, go to your Fitbit app and tap the Today tab, and then tap Devices. Keep in mind that your Fitbit device uses the time of the device you're syncing with. If you found out that your Fitbit device is no longer paired, please see How do I set up my Fitbit device?
Regarding the battery, since you mentioned that this started happening after the update, please try to logout of the Fitbit app and swipe off the active face on your phone and turn off the phone's Bluetooth, then hold the watch button for 10 seconds till it vibrates and the logo appears and wait for it to start. In this disassociated state the battery should last as before.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

This happened to me too on Monday. Contact customer service after doing all the things I was told to do. Makes no sense that I have to disable everything cause it defeats the purpose of having it. This happened last year to me too and I had to get a new watch. I realized my 1 year warranty ended last month on the 1st so I wonder if this is planned. My first Fitbit 2 charge watch lasted me 3 years. Feels like the 4 and 5 are only meant to last a year now before it glitches with updates
