Charge 5 shutting down randomly at full charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Received my Charge 5 yesterday, I bought it directly from FitBit.

Charged to 100%. Connected to my phone, and app.

It keeps shutting down - no flashing green light, screen will not turn on. When I plug it into the charger, it says the battery is full.

I slept with it on last night and woke up to it turned off in the morning, no sleep data tracked. I had it in sleep mode, and I know it was on right before I fell asleep.

I've had the original Fitbit, as well as the Charge 2 and I've never had issues Ike this before. Really disappointed.

I'm going to see how it does today but I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issues, or, if there are any recommendations to resolve, prior to me seeking a refund.

Update: I've been out of the house since 10A. It is now 1230P, and the Charge 5 screen will not turn on.

For anyone following along:

contacted support, they had me reset it. Within 2 hours of that rest, the issue happened again. Hopped back into support and I'm told that a higher tier of support will contact me this week...

I wouldn’t hold your breath for this week. I reported mine last Wednesday still no contact what so ever!

If you can keep us updated with their next steps that would be great.  I had a similar issue last night.  It sounds like they have some bugs to work through, and firmware updates forthcoming.

Same thing happening to me, annoying thing is it happened during exercise. As there is no buttons on the Charge 5 you can’t turn it on until you apply power. Slightly annoying!

So, it took quite a while, but I am back to report that I received my Charge 5 replacement from FitBiton December 1st - so, 2 months later. And now here I am, updating, another 2 months later to let you all know that the replacement has remediated the issue - it is a healthy, happy FitBit product.

Best of luck. I ran into the same issue after running the EDA scan. Fitbit support is palming me off with the iphone App was outdated, just used a later one and no difference Think I need to throw the device out and find a different provided. My advice to anyone considering the Charge 5 is to skip it for now, don't buy yet.

It happened to me as well, the day after running the first EDA scan.

Gotn my Charge 5 last year. Its been shutting off without apparent reason, fully charged and out of the blue. Need to restart every time with clicking three times on ths USB charger. Then runs for several days without problem until it happens again. Today three times already.

Then the wristband comes loose everytime I put my hand into my pocket.Happens with different wrist bands, so its not the band, but the connector on the watch.

Support was no help, telling me to reset and send in a claim for the wristband. No chance of talking this through further, just standard replies.

I am a huge fitbit fan and have had several versions over the years. This is rearly frustrating and am considering to follow my wife's advise to finally get the apple watch....

My charge 5 was fine but since update battery drained fast. A few days ago it suddenly died and won't turn back on after charging for ages. No sync, screen etc it's bricked, tried using usb charger reset.

Mine keeps doing it and it’s really annoying.  No accuracy of steps. I keep having to go hook it to the charger for seconds to power it

on.  It’s going out the window soon😡
