I just got my New Charge 5, not the first one i have had.

I had been wearing my Charge 3, since the old 5 broke.

There is no more stair count  WHAhhhhhh, *crying*

I was such a fun challenge. My work mates and I had tons of fun trying to

beat each others count at work.

Will it ever come back, like in a update?

--------------

At work this was the best challenge I could do with co workers AT  WORK for fun.

I have been a FiTbIt user since 2011..I had so many stats for it, and now i have none.

ZERO,  sad that FiTbIt had to take out a feature, to give us less..kinda not the point for a *new*

product.

It leaves that big  blank on my dash board.........

@sydneyto to count stairs, the Charge 5 would need a piece of hardware called an altimeter. The Charge 5 does not have an altimeter, so it will never be able to count stairs. Not even with an update. Sorry...

Hi, thank you for taking the time to share all your feedback and comments about the option to track floors with the Charge 5, @sydneyto

I understand this feature is appreciated by many users. The Charge 5 includes many of the functions available with Fitbit smartwatches at a more accessible price, but the option to track floors wasn't included with this specific device. As @alexthecat mentioned earlier, keep in mind the Charge 5 does not have an altimeter, and although the possibility to include this feature on the Charge 5 is Not Currently Planned, I do recommend that you vote for these ideas posted in the Community forums to show your support for this feature and other alternatives:

Thanks again for taking the time to share all your feedback about this.

See you around.

I feel cheated. The stairs was such a cool feature. I will return mine and go back to charge 3. I thought I was buying something better 😞

Why would they take a good feature off a new device if they want people to buy it.dosent make sense.you add more features to get people to buy newer versions not take them off.

I think they know it was a fun app so they took it off the Charge 5 and put it on the Versa. <sigh>
I saw the responses about the Charge 5 lacking an altimeter ( which the older charges have?). But
could not this have been done with accelerometer / gyro, or even GPS? So I guess this means I go
and look for my Charge 3 instead of buying the Charge 5.     😓

I’m sorry, but I beg to disagree about it working on the Charge 3. I’ve had two of them, and they count the stairs completely inaccurately. I suspect that’s the main reason why they took it away. It was virtually useless and misleading on the Charge 3. It would count stairs even if you were riding a bicycle. It would’ve been nice if they had fixed it. But if they can’t fix it, then taking it away is probably the better decision.
