Hi there, @AllyAbr. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. It's sad to hear that your Charge 5 has stopped tracking your sleep data. I will be glad to help you to figure out what's going on!

While reading your post, I was wondering if your Charge 5 is still tracking your heart rate? If your heart rate is OFF, you won't get sleep stages as heart rate readings are key for your sleep details. With that being said, I'd recommend trying the following steps to make sure your heart rate is working:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your Fitbit device, from the main screen of your Charge 5, swipe left until you see "Settings", next swipe up until you see "Heart Rate" and switch it to Off.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Charge 5. To do so, from the Today tab, tap Devices > device image. Tap Sync Now
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your Fitbit device once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your watch once again.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible) We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

In addition to that, I suggest taking a look at this help article Why don't I see sleep stages today?

Hi, @AllyAbr , the most usual reasons for your Fitbit reporting only simplified sleep rather than sleep stages:

1. The Fitbit could not receive heart rate readings consistently through the night.  This can sometimes happen because of your sleep position.  If your wrist is significantly flexed during sleep it may interrupt heart rate readings.  It also can happen is the Fitbit is too loose - it should sit snugly (but not tightly!) on your wrist so that it doesn’t slip and rotate as you move.

2. You slept less than 3 hours

3. Your Fitbit’s battery is critically low.  I would recommend charging it to at least 20% before bed.

4. You started sleep manually, from the app rather than letting the Fitbit automatically detect your sleep.

For full information about sleep stages please see this help article .  You might also find it helpful to read the article that explains how to track sleep with Fitbit for more basic information on how this works.

I would also recommend giving your Fitbit a restart .  A restart is always the first troubleshooting step whenever your Fitbit is not behaving as expected.
