My Charge 5 was a present for my bday from someone I care a lot.
After getting caught in a rain storm water got inside and started malfunctioning until it stopped working minutes later.
Fitbit claims that it has a 50m water resistance which is clearly fake after a reading similar user experiences doing a simple search on this forum.
Fitbit, what are you going to do to stop me from scaring people away from your products? Not planning on buying a new what but really planning on bringing you to justice for fake advertisement. Just for the thrill of it because of the sentimental value.

Are you sure it's a water issue or a screen/battery issue? I had no issues with my Charge 5 until now so if it's a water issue, why didn't the black screen happen until now? Look at YouTube to diagnose your issue more accurately. My Charge 5 is syncing with the Fitbit app so a water issue doesn't fit with my issues.

Yeah. 100% sure it was the rain. No need for YouTube to establish high correlation between the water I saw inside and the rainy day on a less than 5-minute walk. Thanks nonetheless!

After having it in rice for more than 48hs and fully resetting the gadget I can report that vibration is gone for good. The Charge 5 no longer vibrates as a consequence of rain. Incredible. It has a year and 2 months and no longer works because of rain (never used it on a pool or when showering). What a piece of junk. Will never be getting another item from this company and will make sure no one I know ever gets near a fitbit. Will go with more serious companies that for sure. Meanwhile will do my research to take legal actions becuase of the false claim of "water resistant to 50 meters". Good luck fibit.
