had my charge 5 for about 2 years. been fine all this time.
put it on this morning and it was fine. went to the beach for a swim - and suddenly the screen is black.
It's also not responding to the phone app. (the app just says 'searching').
I tried plugging the fitbit into the charger and pressing the reset button a few times, no luck. it VIBRATES, but just nothing happens.
is it dead ?

Hi there, @polished_turd. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is still unresponsive. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
If your device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.
If you've done the above but to no avail, may I know if your Charge 5 vibrated during the restart process? If it didn't, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

Hi, I have similar issues after having my Fitbit on for a swim. The Fitbit vibrates when I plug it and press the rest button, I can see it is charging in the app but the screen will not turn back on.
To be fair, prior to this issue, I've only had problems since purchasing this item 2 months ago. The battery drains within 5-6 hours to being fully charged, even with all the interesting features being turned off and making sure it's using the latest update.
I'm at a loss and feel like I flushed money down the drain. It's deceiving.

nah im pretty sure that my fitbit charge 5 is now dead.
I've left it for a few weeks to completely drain of charge. Tried plugging it back in to charge, it just wont turn on.
I can still press the charge cable button and feel a vibrate. but its completely boned.
This is extremely frustrating. It's the second fitbit device I've bought that has died. Bought one back in 2014, and it lasted 2 years. This one also only lasted around 2 years, just enough time to void warranty. I'm so sick of companies making products that last 'just long enough' so they dont have to replace them.
Can you guys just make a fitbit that lasts longer than 2 years?

honestly, it's a complete joke. companies treat us consumers like môrons. we're expected to just keep buying more products with shorter and shorter life spans, so the ceo's can buy more yachts and investment properties

Hello @MyBeauchamp
Since you've had your Charge 5 for only a few months, you should contact Support (<-- click link) to find out what are your options under warranty. Complete the prompts until you get the option to chat or call.

few months? No, I've had the charge 5 for 2 years. I have zero doubt they'll do anything
