Charge 5 stopped working after getting wet

2 days ago my watch stopped working, I charge it 2 days before so I thought it was strange the battery had died.
I tried to charge it but when connected it keep vibrating, I tried all the reboot advice from here. I were unsure if water was the problem, it is supposedly water proof but bc it happen after a shower, I was considering any possibility. I left it in a container with tissues to try to absorb the moisture and next morning was working fine for a couple hours. Then it went black again, I tried everything again but this time nothing is working. When put to charge it vibrates once like normal but nothing is coming on the screen.
I am living in Namibia (Africa) now and so I need a remote solution. Or a new watch that can be send here.

I’m currently having the same issue, which also started two days ago. It’s very frustrating because this is my third watch from Fitbit with the same issue.

Hi there, @AnahiHidalgo. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for your time in troubleshooting the issue with your Charge 5 before posting here. I understand where your concern is coming from.

I've seen you contacted our Support Team just right after posting here and they've already assisted you. If you have any questions regarding the outcome of your case, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team again. Since you already have a ticket open with them it'd be easier to continue the follow up on this matter with them directly.

@NeekieD Welcome on board. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is also experiencing this issue. I understand how frustrating this may be.

As you already know, if your device got wet it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.

If you've done the above but to no avail, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit.

I’ve tried all that have been mentioned but now my charge 5 is no longer charging. It’s just dead and none responsive.

@NeekieD Thanks for trying the steps I recommended in my post above.

Since all the steps you tried didn't work, you have a Charge 5 and report it's not working after getting wet, I need additional information from you that would best be shared privately. I’m sharing a link to a form for you to fill out so we can look into this further.

This form is only meant for you to use, so let me know once you’re done. Click here to get access to it.
