@Mac7777 Thanks for getting back and confirming that you've tried those steps already.

As mentioned above, since you have reported this matter to our Support Team, please note there's nothing left we here in the community can suggest other than reaching out to our team again.

Regarding your inquiry about Amazon, please keep in mind that many things are sold by Amazon, but more than half of the stuff is sold by third party sellers. We provide support for your Fitbit device, but when it comes to reviewing your warranty, we provide a warranty if the Fitbit device was sold by Amazon or by Heartrate Monitors as  the warranty covers Fitbit products purchased directly from fitbit.com or an authorized retailer. We advise contacting the seller from whom you purchased the product for further assistance.

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Mac7777!

I'm sad to hear about your impressions about your Charge 5. But I'd like to point out that Charge 5 indeed is meant for swim tracking and thus is water resistant as long as you keep an eye on points mentioned here:

Can I swim or shower with my Fitbit device?

Very important is to dry any device after it has gotten wet before putting it back on.

Hi there, @Mac7777. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.

As @Talahthas has mentioned, if your device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.

If you've done the above but to no avail, may I know if your Charge 5 vibrated during the restart process? If it didn't, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.

For more information about our warranty, see fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty or please feel free to contact our team back so they can clarify any doubt.
