I have had my charge 5 less than two weeks and it stopped working after one pool swim of 30 lengths.
The screen intermittently starts, sometimes flashing, sometimes with bands and sometimes in B and W. Mostly it will nit start or show anything.
I have dried it, washed it in clean water and reset it via the lead - all to no avail.
Ideas?

Sad to hear that you're having an issue with your Charge 5. Thanks for having taken the time trying to get things fixed by yourself.
To save you any further efforts, I'd suggest contacting Fitbit support to see what they can do for you:

Good news: the warranty is 1 year, so, you can get a replacement if you talk to customer support. Or, you might be able to return it to the store you purchased it from if the ability to swim with your fitness watch is important to you. While Fitbit is supposed to be able to track swimming, its water proofing seems to be quite spotty, so a different brand might work better for you.
