I have been careful to not get my Fitbit wet. However, I went swimming this weekend and doublechecked that it should be able to handle it. Against my wife's warning that I would break the Fitbit I wore it swimming. It broke. It was working during the workout with water lock enabled as I used it to look at the time. When I got home the screen is black and it will not turn on. I have gone through the other posts and found the reset instructions. That did get the Fitbit to vibrate but still not turn back on. I think it ran out of battery as it has stopped even vibrating when on the charger. Is there anything else I can do to get it working again?

I have the same issue currently! I went swimming with water lock enabled, but now my charge 5 keeps vibrating randomly and displays the Fitbit logo (but nothing else). When I reset it, the only thing it shows is still the Fitbit logo. I have tried everything, and I'm not sure what to do...

This seems too widespread to be anything but an inherent defect or something related to a recent update. You've described my Fitbit's symptoms to a T. However, I'd been using it to swim for 10 months and another 10 months on the original Charge 5 for which this one was a warranty replacement. Hopefully you're still under warranty as it doesn't look like they're offering much in the way of solutions for anyone else who isn't. This was the last straw for me and I just bought a Garmin today.

Exact same problem here. I restarted by pressing the button on the charge cable three times, and it did display the Fitbit logo, but the problem remains

I have been running with mine for awhile. Went swimming put water lock on and it has not worked since. Charged it to 100% within a minute or two got notification battery was at 6% wont display anything now even though phone says it is fully charged? My fitbit inspire HR worked for 2 years daily swimming so disappointed in this.

Mine at least vibrates in the charger but cannot the display to show anything. Just black, no logo.
the reset process with the charger cable does nothing.

I resolved the issue by getting a replacement. The charge 5 that died was out of warranty but chatting with the Support line I received a 50% off coupon to order a new one. There were no additional things to get it working than what is already suggested on the forums.

I called customer service and they are sending a replacement because it is under warranty. They could see that the battery was draining while we were talking it went from 100% to 6% in minutes. I hope the next charge 5 lasts a bit longer.

I have the exact same issue but every time I try to reach out to support I get silence on the other end. Chat says 'we are trying to find someone to help' and the number just rings. It makes me extremely leery of replacing my Charge 5 with another Fitbit product. Especially since had I puchased it in the EU rather than the US it would still be under warranty by law.

I had the same thing happen this week after swimming. However, I’ve been wearing my Charge 5 in the pool for nearly 2 years without any issues. I tried resetting it several times with no luck. I let it sit for 48 hours and tried charging it again. This time it came back to life and started charging. After a few hours it was at 100% but it was buzzing. I took it off the charger and wore it for about an hour and the battery dropped to 6%—crazy! And when I charge it, it buzzes constantly! I’M WEARING MY TRUSTY CHARGE 2, WHICH LOOKS BEAT UP BUT HAS NEVER GIVEN ME ANY TROUBLE.
