I bought the Charge 5 when it was first released end of last September. The device stopped working in May, and Fitbit sent me a replacement device. A few days ago the replacement device also stopped working, possibly due to a failed firmware update it tried to perform without my knowledge while the battery was low. Contacted support and they were not very helpful. Now I have two broken Charge 5 in 13 months, and all Fitbit is willing to do is offer a 35% off discount code for me to buy a new device.
I'm not sure if it is my luck with devices or Fitbit has poor quality control for their software/hardware. I just don't find it acceptable that they want customers to purchase new devices every year due to their lack of quality control.
I used to be a fan of Fitbit, but not anymore. Probably won't buy their product again and won't recommend it to anyone I know.
