Charge 5- stopped working when in waterlock

I was in Europe and put my Fitbit Charge 5 on water-lock, within minutes of putting it in water-lock the screen turned off and I can't seem to get it to start again.  I have read up on all the tips to get the watch re-started on this community forum,  but no go.  I have tried everything in the last week to get it to restart/charge.   It's like its dead.    I only purchased this watch in August 2023 so it's just past the warranty   This is also my 3rd Fitbit that suddenly stopped working in under 4 years.   I think I will move away from Fitbit for my next smartwatch.    I am not a very happy Fitbit user right now.

Hi, @AnnaM613 Welcome to the community, may I offer you this video demonstrating the restarting procedure at 1:30 for review? You do not mention if you can sync your Charge 5 or if the Fitbit app indicates pairing & a battery state of charge. Allowing the screen on your Charge 5 is not illuminating and you do not see any sign of life in the Fitbit app you should review this article Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging? - Fitbit Help Center I would add in my experience you may need to be connected to a "Live" USB socket for at least 60 minutes after cleaning & checking the cable puck pins. If you are not able to make any progress I recommend you talk to "Customer Support", work through steps 1 & 2 and use the Chat facility or phone for prompt attention.

The water lock feature is designed to prevent the device from being activated by water splashing on the display. To turn the feature off, it takes very firm tapping on the display.

The first time I tried the water lock feature, I panicked a bit since I had trouble turning the feature off. I had to really firmly tap on the clock face to get the feature to turn off and show the display again.
