My Fitbit five had a red dot white circle around it let the battery die now trying to restart to try to fix it and it won’t charge back up at this time. How do you get out of that problem

Hi there, @Dbljr. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is stuck on a red X and that it won't charge. Thank you so much for taking the time to troubleshoot the issue with your Fitbit device before reaching out, I'll be glad to continue assisting you.

Sometimes a Fitbit doesn’t seem to be charging when actually the issue is that it has become unresponsive (this can happen if the battery has been allowed to discharge completely, like in your case). I'd recommend putting it on to charge on a charging wire and outlet known to be working.  Leave it on the charger for a good two hours, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging.

When it has had two hours, try the restarting your Charge 5. I would recommend trying this maybe twice in a row if a first try doesn’t work.

If you manage to recharge your Charge 5, but it's still stuck on the red X, please try the steps below in the order listed:

  1. Complete the 3 pulse restart procedure method one more time using the charging cable.
  2. Please sync your device in the Fitbit app by tapping your profile picture > Charge 5 > Sync Now.
  3. If you  can't sync, please try tapping on your profile picture > Charge 5 > Tile to see if the firmware banner appears (since a new firmware version has been released for the Charge 5).
  4. If it's still unresponsive, please try changing the clock face as well and check if you're able to see anything on the display.

Let me know how it goes.
