Add me to the list of Charge 5 owners that suddenly have a nonfunctioning device. Has anyone been able to recover their Charge 5 once they encounter this problem or is it the end?

Same issues here! I bought my Charge 5 in July 2022 (second model as I really enjoyed my first one), and two days ago it just stopped working – black screen and not charging. After watching a couple of YouTube videos, and trying at least rebutting it 5 times, it started working… but not for long. After a couple of hours, it kept going black screen again. I went through the process again (twice actually) and after the third time, I just gave up.

Creepy... I just went into my dashboard in the computer, and it's showing activity today - I did not wear my device today! At least on my phone it's not showing the device.

Hi @wtempleton @LuciaH.. Welcome to the community forums.
Thank you for taking the time to share the experience that you are having with your Charge 5.
Please, sync your device one more time: with your device nearby, open the Fitbit app and tap Today. Press and hold on the screen and pull down.
Now, please change the clock face as indicated in this help article: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
In addition, restart your device as indicated in the help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
If it is related to the battery, please visit this help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
Please make sure that you are using the latest version of the App.

Synced and reset many times. Tried this suggestion but just get errors. Unable to connect. Turn device on - it’s on but with the constantly dying battery. It’s not nearby - it’s right on top.

I changed the clock face and could feel the watch vibrate so something happened. I did this with the watch fully charged and this was confirmed in the app at the top of the screen. The watch is still blank. Since the watch face is blank there's no way to follow the instructions to restart my Fitbit device.
Has any one been able to recover there suddenly malfunctioning Charge 5 by following these instructions?

Same here! Yesterday it appeared to be working for less than one hour. Managed to reset, changed the date, time, paired with me phone. Died again. Black screen. Today, tried to work with the instructions, but after a few tries, and only showing the Fitbit logo on the screen, it continues black screen - but on my phone is showing 100% charged.
