Hi! My charge 5 was working flawlessly until 2 days ago, the charge will not hold more than a few hours.
Even when 100% charged ALL sensors are off (steps, heart rate, screen on when moving my wrist), it's only suitable to loot at the time.
A full battery charge doesn't last for more than 1-2 hours.
things I try:
- check display settings, dim
- check GPS: not in use
- Screen NOT "always on"
- reboot from Fitbit several times
- reboot from the charging cable
- Remove and re-add the Fitbit to the app (this makes the heart rate light stay on for a little while)
The battery drains so much that it loses date/time, It NEVER happened to me, this is my fourth Fitbit.
What can I try? I was thinking about buying a Charge 6, but the previous Fitbit suddenly the screen went dark, so I'm seriously considering alternatives if I can't fix this.
No recent updates, current firmware: 57.20001.188.58
Thanks!

Mine still counts steps but otherwise acts like yours. Yeah the update broke it I think. I will not buy another Fitbit if they don't offer a fix.

Oh no, do you think it was the update? My stopped working overnight. Had plenty of battery last I saw but could get anything to show up but the diamond shape start up,screen and I couldn’t pair it with my phone. I already gave up and bought a charge 6. If they fix this bug they had better let me return the new one.

I had the same issue. Followed the instructions for resetting the Charge 5. Shut it off, remove it from the app, re-enter, push the button on the charger 3 times to reset etc. I got it to work finally accept the battery only lasts for 2-3 days now. I contacted the factory and they generously gave me a 50% discount on the purchase of a new charge 6.
I also had a new update to my app and now my watch does not sync. My wife has a different model and has not had the same issues...yet. I am not so confident in Fitbit as I once was. Been using one since the beginning with the original step counter they came out with 10 to 12 years ago.
I believe the consumers should ban together and start a class action lawsuit. Apple went to court for doing the same thing a few years ago. The worst part is all of the issues popped up just after Google took over Fitbit. It is a shame really, a great product that will become a google has been it seems.

Same to mine. Battery drained in less than 12 hours and it stopped sleep log. Tried everything you listed. Is fitbit releasing a patch to fix this?

Update, notifications are not enabled but disabling Bluetooth on my cellphone made the battery last a whole night, I can add that before dying, the green LED stops blinking and I have a red LED until battery dies.
any ideas?
Thanks!
