On my 2nd Charge 5 (first one stopped recharging), and overnight this new one - about a year old now - has stopped synching or even being identified by the phone. The phones wont find the Charge. and vice versa. Strongly suspect the latest app update to blame, but there is ZERO support from google/fitbit - if it doesnt fix itself by the weekend, i am permamnently taking it off and deleting the app. Thoroughly awful customer support from Google, live chat window disappears, almost all app or web avenues go nowhere!!

I would be surprised if the app update had anything to do with it. Maybe. Have you tried restarting the FitBit? Either from the device itself or by using the button on the charger cable?

no buttons on my charge 5 cable, BUT having tried restarting phone, bluetooth off and on too, with no result, i DID switch off the charge5 and restart it, which seems to have reset the issue. so thanks for the tips

switching off my fitbit using the menus and restarting it seemed to fix it, so the problem was with fitbit not phone it seems. hope you get yours solved too

The charging cable that came with your device has a small inset button on one side of the USB plug that goes into the charging brick.
This help article (<-- click link) has the directions for restarting the Charge 5, including how to use the charging cable for restarting for future reference.
