Charge 5 syncing and battery issues

I noticed late afternoon yesterday that my Fitbit wasn't syncing my active hours. Steps were still syncing. I woke up this morning and noticed my steps didn't sync and kept adding to my steps from yesterday. I tried charging Fitbit, but the device wouldn't charge. I saw other posts about restarting the Fitbit. Tried that 3 times. Also unpaired the device from Bluetooth. I noticed an hour ago, I had only a black screen on the Fitbit. Plugged in to the charger and then it flashed a battery life of 7%. What the heck is going on?!?!

Hi, @mjh76 welcome to the community, may I suggest you review Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging? - Fitbit Help Center FYG I use rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl 70%) with a cotton bud to detail the contacts on the back of my Charge 5 but warm soapy water will do (Dry before attempting to charge) You may have to put your Charge 5 on juice for at least 60 minutes before you see signs of life if the battery has been completely depleted.

Have you recently updated your Charge 5? you will see posts suggesting this may be at the root of this kind of issue but the jury is still out.
