When I hike with long sleeves, the sweat from my arms gets onto my sleeves and triggers the screen as I'm moving. It makes the fitbit completely unusable for tracking because eventually it triggers the stop button on screen and stops the activity. Water lock would solve this instantly but there's no way to turn it on while doing an activity.
Please tell me there's a solution to this or that there's an update coming (soon) otherwise the device is practically useless to me.

Hello @robfit1
You’re not the only one this happened to and many people would like this function!
A good way to make your voice heard would be to vote for Feature Suggestions related to this and leave comments. Apparently the Feature Suggestions are more closely monitored and may actually cause things to change if enough votes are received.
I’m attaching some links to vote for, as it’s a start.
Add water lock to Exercise settings
This one is ‘Not planned’ but you can still add a vote (I just did).
It would also be good if you made a suggestion yourself if you have a more specific idea.
Feature Suggestions Charge trackers
I’ve been lucky as it only happened to me once but I have my sleeve rolled up and check it all the time.
I hope this feature becomes available soon!
I hope that helps a bit.

Coming from someone who sweats profusely when walking, spinning, or jogging, I strongly recommend one simple addition to your workout wardrobe easily added to your long sleeve on the arm where you wear your Fitbit Charge 5.
Invest in wrist sweatbands. I wear them all the time, have been since I bought my first Fitbit in 2015; they work like a charm and ne need to wait for Fitbit to decide on adding a new feature. You can elect to wear the sweatband on the outside of your sleeve (sleeve tucked into the wrist sweatband) or wear the sweatband just under the end of your sleeve. Either way, it should absorb enough of the sweat/moisture to mitigate your issue.
