My 4 month old Charge 5 randomly shut down today and started to vibrate like crazy. Both the screen and the sensors are off and the device cannot be reset with the reset button on the cable. The vibration did eventually stop at one point with the screen displaying the dreaded "X of Death".
Currently I have no way of interacting with the device as it is totally unresponsive.
(It heats up slightly on the charging cradle....)

Update : and now out of nowhere, it started to vibrate continuously……the screen and sensors are still off and unresponsive.

UPDATE: it turns out to be water damage! I can now see condensation in the sensor lens. I never swim with my Charge 5, but washes it
under the tap it when it gets sweaty. For a device that’s supposedly good enough for swimming, this is simply unacceptable.

Same exact thing just happened to mine. Did you ever get it to work again?

oh **ahem**, I shouldn't have come here. Now I'll always have to remove my Charge5 before going swimming. I've seen several water damaged Charge 5 by now, what's going on here?

think about this: There's water inside. How's he supposed to get it working again?
