Charge 5 unresponsive after being in water

Hi. My charge 5 has died completely after being in water for a short while a few days ago

ive tried charging and also forced restart as per instructions on here

Does anyone have any ideas whether I might be able to get it working again?

Im assuming there is some life in it as there’s a vibration when I connect it to the charger (although this could possibly be the charger vibrating???)

Hello @Nicd27

By any chance, did you turn on the Water lock feature before going into the water? If so, I learned that it takes very firm, strong tapping to turn off the Water lock feature. I had to take off my Charge 5, put it on the counter, then keep firmly tapping on the display until the Water lock disabled and my clock face appeared.

Hello @Nicd27

Thanks for letting us know that it doesn't seem like the Water lock feature was on. Sorry to see that my suggestion didn't help.

I experienced that. My clock was died, fortunately, it was in guarantee period. So, I claimed it back and got new one.
After that, I nevver use it in the water again.
I don't trust this mode any more. Fitbit is not suit for the water sport. It is not completely designed for that.

The same thing happened to me today. I'm so frustrated. I was only wading in shallow water. I've been trying to restart it for several hours, but no luck. The screen is black and it just pulsates when I attach the charger. Mine isn't in the warranty period, so I'm out of luck. It's very disappointing as I'm in a financial crisis due to being unable to work for over 8 months due to illness. I rely on my fitbit for tracking my sleep, heart rate, etc.

Update* My Charge 5 turned on this morning after seeing it in the counter and pressing really hard on the screen. However, now it won't sync with my Galaxy S22. I select on the APP and it just keeps spinning, never completes syncing and the time is incorrect.
