Charge 5 - vibrating uncontrollably...stopped responding...screen black...won't reboot

Two days ago while exercising, my charge 5 started vibrating uncontrollably.  Then the screen started showing random, partial images while continuing to vibrate uncontrollably.  I placed it on charger and it continued vibrating.  I did the reboot from the cord.  While the Fitbit logo came up, it never went passed that and continued vibrating.  I let it die completely.  I recharged it and tried rebooting it.  Nothing.  Screen is completely black.  Vibrating has stopped.  The Fitbit logo never comes up.  I've tried rebooting about 10 times.

I had the same problem with the vibrating a week ago.  I let the battery drain down and recharged it.  It began working again after that.  However, over the last several days I can’t get much more than a day’s worth of run time on a full charge.  Tonight I tried to restart it hoping that it may fix the battery problem.  Now, in spite of several reboot attempts the screen has gone black and will not light up at all.  This is my second replacement Charge 5.  I’m finding that the Charge 5 is very unreliable and not worth the money or the hassle.  An Apple product may be in my future.
