I know there are number of posts about battery drain, but I thought the specific issue I experienced is worth mentioning in a different post. I've had the Charge 5 for about 3 weeks now, and for pretty much the entire 3 weeks I've used it, I've had to charge it every day. I would charge it around 8 am in the morning to 100%, and by the following 8am, the battery would be down to 20%. I've done all the things mentioned in other posts to mitigate the issue - I've turned off always-on display, turned off notifications, I'm using the GPS on my phone, etc, etc. Since I'm not getting anywhere close to the advertised 7-day battery life, I thought maybe I just had a bad battery and have been considering returning the Charge 5. But then last week, something changed - after charging the battery to 100% the previous day, around 8am the following morning, I checked the battery and was surprised to see that my charge was still around 90%, instead of the usual 20%. Weird I thought, but didn't really think much of it. Went through the day as usual and the following morning around 8am, was again surprised to see the battery was still at around 70%. In short, I was able to go 4 days without charging. After the 4th day, the battery was a little below 30%, so I recharged back up to 100%, and now unfortunately, the battery is back to it's old self where I need to recharge after 24 hours. I would like to emphasize that I did not change how I used the Charge 5 during this time period at all, nor did I change any settings, so I don't know what happened to make the battery actually live up to what it's advertised at, or why it reverted back to draining within 24 hours. I'm wondering if there were multiple firmware updates during this time that fixed and then somehow unfixed the issue? In any case, I can't be sure what happened but am back to thinking about returning this thing.
