Charge 5 won't auto-wake, water lock impossible to turn on

I just picked up a Charge 5 this week. As of yesterday, the tracker's screen isn't turning on by wrist rotation or movement of any kind - it stays black unless I repeatedly tap on the screen (sometimes requiring 5+ taps just to register).

I've changed the screen wake setting from Auto to Manual and back to Auto - I still get the same results. I've also restarted the tracker from it's settings directly, as well as a restart from the charger when it's plugged in - no change in results.

 

In addition, I literally cannot get water lock to activate. I was able to lock and unlock it the first day I bought it when I was testing it out, but now no amount of force behind my tapping will activate the water lock.

 

Is anyone else seeing these issues?

Well, it looks like the tracker was defective and had to be replaced by Customer Support. I would recommend anyone else having these issues do the same.

 

Don't hold your breath though - I've just received my replacement tracker which refuses to sync with my phone. It won't even pair successfully - just immediately fails during setup. Support has now opted to send me another replacement (this will be my 3rd Charge 5 in 10 days).

The issue has morphed even further by the tracker resetting my step count to 0 (refusing to track any steps I take), and not tracking my heart rate....

Helllo,, I have exactly the dame issue with Charge 5. It appeard 2 days ago. The auto wake up on wrist roll and water lock do not work. I tried all the reset options described in forums. Sleep mode and DND are turned off. I tried turning them on and off, but nothing changed. 

Also, the battery went crazy - it lastst less than half a day! 

My charge 5 was recently updated to tje latest firmware.

Is there anything else I can do? If not, how can I request a replacement? The watch is still under warranty.

Mine is acting strangely too. I am coming up on my 2 years. Seems like every Fitbit I get dies after 2 years.
