My charge 5 fitbit would not charge via charging cable. I followed all advice to clean and press chargung cable button 3 times. Did this over and over. Any advice?

Hi there, @JW71. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is still not charging. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

As a first approach, please confirm that you have tried restarting your Charge 5 as described below:

  1. Connect your Fitbit device to the charger.
  2. Quickly lift it off and put it back on.
  3. After a half-second pause, repeat this pick-up-and-place move 3 more times, all within 8 seconds.

If the above doesn't work and your device is still unresponsive, please try the following reset:

  1. Plug in the charging cable
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses.
  3. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

In a addition, please make sure you've tried and attempted all troubleshooting steps provided here Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Hello @JW71

If you tried all the recommended troubleshooting steps that @MarreFitbit provided and still have a problem charging your device, you might have a defective/broken charging cable and need a new one.

Mine did the same thing, I tried all the suggestions on restarting it and none worked. Bummer! I loved my fit bit, Always had good service but I guess they are history now.

Hello @Bluejeamstoo

This is probably a long shot. One of our users discovered that they were able to get their Charge 5 working again after exposing it to freezer temps for a period of time. Here's the thread (<-- click link) in case you want to read what they did and try it.

This method worked for some users, but not all. Still, it might be worth a try.
