My Charge 5 started having battery problems a few days ago. The first sign something was wrong was that I got a low battery notification when I had charged it to full earlier in the day. Then, after having ensured it had a full charge before I went to sleep, the battery hit zero overnight. I charged it to full before leaving the house, I set it to use phone GPS, I turned the screen brightness down, I made sure the screen was NOT on always on. I went on a run, and it was down to 50% by the time I got back. I charged it again. It was down to 20% by the evening, and I charged it to full again before going to bed. It seems to have recorded two and a half hours of sleep before it gave out.
This morning, I’ve had it on the charger for two hours, and when I take it off the charger the screen doesn’t come up. The green light is flashing on the back of the device. I took it briefly off the charger to walk it over to the sink where I took a soft, slightly damp cloth to ensure that the charging nodes were clean, dried it thoroughly, and took it back to the charger - it registered eleven steps, and my battery at 100% per the app, though the screen remained off. Two minutes later, the battery had dropped to 96% per the app, and the screen continued to be off. Less than two minutes later, the battery had dropped to 91% per the app, and again, the screen continued to be off. I put it on the charger and tried the “press the button three times, one second between presses” thing, and that had no effect.
So, what now? Would I be correct in presuming that my Charge 5 is now pretty much hopelessly dead?

I have the same issue, just multiply it by 4....I have been a fitbit user for over a decade. My issues started in June of 2021. Bought a new Charge 4 after my Ulta broke. In November of 21, it literally died. Would not charge. Could not reboot. Called Fitbit customer service and within a the week I had a replacement. Great! Well, that replacement worked great until September of 2022, when there was an update that I did. Immediately, my fitbit would only stay charged for 60 to 90 minutes. That is all! Called again and because it was past the 1 year warranty all they would offer was 30% off a new one. So I purchased a Charge 5. SEVEN WEEKS LATER....it too dies.....so called and they sent me out a replacement. Yesterday I called customer service because I am having the same issues. Fitbit stays charged for maybe 90 minutes, then dead. But they want more details! I am through with Fitbit. If they give me another, I will use it but next fitness tracker I purchase WILL NOT BE A FITBIT PRODUCT! Four fitbits in just less than 2 years...pathetic!
