My charge 5 had stopped syncing automatically but I was managing to force sync by turning bluetooth off and on. Frustrating, but it worked.
But then that stopped working as well.
So I unpaired the charge 5 from my phone and now it won't reconnect.
I get the 'found it' message, but then connecting fails and I get the 'not working' screen with the same frustrating advice every time and a suggestion to try again. I've read through the forums, followed the sequences. It's not happening and I'm losing patience.
The phone is a moto g9play, running andriod version 11 (no updates available)

Hi there, @popskye. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is no longer connecting to your phone. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
In addition to the steps you've done so far, please try the steps below in the order listed. Important: Please be aware that most Fitbit devices store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you wait longer than 7 days before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data. Summary data (calories, distance, steps, and floors) will be stored for 30 days. Nevertheless, if your Fitbit device was unpaired from your Fitbit account during this period of time, neither the 7 days can be recovered or restored.
With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

Hi, I'd seem this advice on the forum and it doesn't work.
Have tried again, resetting my bluetoooth and thereby deleting all other devices, still no joy.
It finds the device but can't connect.

Hello @popskye
I've seen some users report that they had to turn off Wi-Fi on their phone, then turn it back on in order to get their Fitbit to connect. Although there's no guarantee that this will work for you, it might be worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestion but that didn't work either.
I've tried uninstalling the Fitbit app,
Resetting my WiFi, mobile and Bluetooth
Having my phone and Fitbit fully charged and plugged in,
Other devices are not having Bluetooth connectivity issues so I'm fairly sure it's a Fitbit problem.

Update....for reasons unknown, today phone Bluetooth could see my charge 5 and I got as far as a pairing code on the Fitbit, but then connection failed after code was entered into phone.
Tried twice. And now phone isn't seeing charge 5 again.
It's really just a watch isn't it?
