Hi @Mhyr  which smartphone or tablet are you using and which operating system? That would help us to know more about your problem. I see you posted in December with this issue - were you able to get it connected since that last post?

Hello I’m using an iOS 16.3.1 at an iphone device. I got connected in December although gets disconnected at bluetooth most of the time which led me to forget device and then add device again. Was able to pair and connected for few days but now couldn’t connect again for almost 2 weeks already.

@Mhyr  be sure your app is up to date and get with customer support. They can walk you through it.

here are the support contacts I've gleaned over the years on the forums.

when there is someone available, chat is an option. Phone or Twitter works well, too.

Hi there, @Mhyr. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out. I understand how you must be feeling.

In addition to the steps you've done so far, I'd recommend trying the following in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Charge 5 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Charge 5.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Charge 5.
  • Once your Charge 5 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

If the above doesn't work, please follow @Odyssey13's advice and chat with us online or give us a call. Click here to get connected.

It is beyond belief that these are the steps that must be taken to enable my device to do the most basic and necessary task - syncing data. I hate this device so much. I've spent over an hour doing all the steps before this one and nothing works. I'm about to chuck it in the trash and buy something that does the basics and connects and syncs, ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER DEVICES I OWN AND WITHOUT DISABLING EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM TO GET ONE STUPID DEVICE TO DO ITS JOB.

I’ve done ALL possible solutions you’ve listed. I’ve had different fitbits in the past years but never had this problem. It’s so annoying 😤
