Charge 5 won't hold a charge anymore

I purchased my Charge 5 a couple of days over a year and also purchased an additional 1 year warranty.  The Fitbit after charged drained within a half hour.  Because this is battery related I was told by Staples that even the Manufacturer would not have covered the warranty as it is a battery issue.  $263.18 with warranty is a tad bit much for a product that only lasts 1 year. I have owned a fitbit for about 10 years if not more.  I will never again purchase another.

Hi there, @Rose333. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is no longer holding its charge. I understand how you must be feeling as your Charge 5 is not that old. Thanks for already taking the time to reach out to Staples. I will do my best to help you with this!

As a first approach, please note that sometimes a Fitbit doesn’t seem to be charging when actually the issue is that it has become unresponsive (this can happen if the battery has been allowed to discharge completely). I'd recommend putting it on to charge on a charging wire and outlet known to be working.  Leave it on the charger for a good two hours, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging.

When it has had two hours, try restarting your Charge 5. I would recommend trying this maybe twice in a row if a first try doesn’t work.

As for the battery draining quickly,
please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article to improve battery life in general, as this has been generally useful for other users. In addition, please complete a three pulse restart following the steps listed here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end if the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
