Charge 5 won't hold a charge

Disappointed in Charge 5. Just bought it 2days ago and it went dark. I am not using GPS only have the factory settings on it and it will not hold a charge. I bought this after having the Charge 4 go Black on my last year permanently and FITBIT gave me no resolution  I may take the watch back and go for a more reliable brand. I was kept o HOLD 21 minutes only for the agent to say take it back to the store if I want.
THIS IS SO MUCH HASSLE and  the second watch that isn't working properly.
OPEN to any suggestions. I was looking forward to this watch and willing to give Ftibit a second try even after my last watch that stopped working. NOW what to do?

Hi @runtolight  this article might help - click to go there. I'm sure the customer service representative was probably saying it was faster to return the device to the local store where you purchased it. Looks like shipping anything right now is taking more time due to the holiday rush.

I was really disappointed when I got this and had same issue for first few days despite turning off gps, putting the screen on manual (so it wouldn’t come on when I move my wrist), etc. Finally what “seems” like it may be working is turning off the setting for heart rate notifications (high and low). I turned that off, gave it a charge, still kept screen on manual (tap to wake) and so far it seems to not be draining as fast. I’ll confirm again in a day or so as to whether it kept working. Still disappointing to have to turn off features to get it to hold… I kinda miss my charge 4 😞

Hi @runtolight and @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the forums. @Odyssey13 Thanks for your help!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'm sorry you've gone through this experience with your Charge 5, and appreciate every step tried prior to posting. Before anything else, let me explain that after setting up your tracker for the first time, the Fitbit app will ask you to update its firmware and it's expected for the battery to drain at that time just to complete this process. The battery life will also depend on how frequent certain features are used. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't use them, but just to take those features into consideration.

@SunsetRunner Because it seems you've already tried the tips described in our help article, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Support team so they can evaluate your options and bring you back on track. You can click here to get connected with them via chat or phone.

@runtolight While I don't have access to your case, my best advice is to contact our Support team one more time so they can see what other options are available for you. Please keep an open communication with them, I'm sure they'll continue helping you.

Hope this helps.
