My Fitbit is less than a year old and since Sunday has had issues holding a charge. It took me 4 attempts contacting customer service to finally get a real reason as to what is happening. Apparently there is a software issue that is impacting the battery's ability to hold a charge. Why does it take this many attempts for troubleshooting to get the truth? Why are users not notified of this issue? Proactive communication goes a long way. My Fitbit is now deemed useless until this issue is fixed!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @canesdiaz.
I appreciate all the information that you've provided about this issue with your Charge 5.
As you mentioned earlier, some users have found a specific issue with the GPS chip affecting battery life. Please know that the team is working to fix the issue with an upcoming firmware update. If you haven't done so already, please review the standard troubleshooting steps.
In the meantime, please keep in mind that some features make the battery drain faster than usual, like Always-On Display or tracking SpO2 data. Make sure you've also tried the these steps if you haven't done so already:
Please know that all your feedback is appreciated and the team is constantly working to find a solution for this problem. If you need further assistance with this as well, don't hesitate to get in touch with the Customer Support team. You can click here to get connected.

None of these suggestions have fixed my fitbit. I've done all of these and it still dies in less than an hour. My fitbit has been unusable for a week. How long will this fix take?

@canesdiaz Thank you for confirming that you already tried all the troubleshooting steps suggested.
Regarding the GPS chip issue causing rapid battery drain, we know the team of developers is working to release a firmware update soon to resolve it, but it's not possible to provide a specific time frame. I've been also been informed that you already contacted the Customer Support team for further assistance with this.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience and feedback about this.

When yesterday I charged my Fitbit 5 to 100 percent and then an hour in a half later the battery was 0 and also couldn't swipe the face of the Fitbit to go to settings to see if I'm using something that drains the battery. Can you help me to keep this Fitbit watch to maintain its battery life thanks
----------
My Charge 5 has done exactly the same, less than a year old and after fully charging it, it is down to zero in an hour and I have done all the troubleshooting options
----------
Hi Ian Pennington here and my Charge 5 has done exactly the same and only 6 months old, only holds its full charge for an hour then back to zero , it's useless to wear now and have done all troubleshooting options available, very frustrating

@ian.pennington3 Thank you for your reply and for confirming that you already tried all the troubleshooting steps mentioned previously.
In this case, since the battery is lasting an unusually short amount of time, I do recommend that you get in touch with the Customer Support team. They have specialized tools and will let you know how to proceed. You can click here to get connected and chat with us online or give us a call.
Thanks again for sharing your feedback and your experience with this.
