Charge 5 won't receive text and WhatsApp notifications

Hi. I have got a new Charge 5 and I’m having real problems with receiving text and WhatsApp notification.  For the texts I have tried all of the suggestions but nothing is working. For WhatsApp it is not on the App Notifications list so I can’t even turn on the notifications. I have an iPhone 13 and it all worked ok on my old Fitbit. It is very frustrating. Please can anybody help?

Hi there, @MindyD1. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before posting here. I understand how you must be feeling. 

Is your Charge 5 fairly new? If so, since you're setting up notifications, you'll need to receive a message from the app desired in order for your app to show it as option in your Fitbit notification's section. For example, tell someone to send a WhatsApp, then check your Fitbit app and you'll see that WhatsApp is already an option to be selected.

As for the text messages, I was wondering if the text messages your Charge 5 is not receiving are iMessages? I also have an iPhone and had a similar trouble with those messages, but I tried toggling the iMessage setting; general > Messages > iMessage and verified the "Show Previews" was on "Always". If this steps don't work for you, please make sure you've followed all tips and recommendations provided here Troubleshooting quick tips for iPhones.

I have a Google pixel 6a and none of the fixes work. I went through about ten of the them.  My Fitbit receives messages from my ex outdated BlackBerry key2 but won't on a my **ahem** new google pixel.  So it's not a Fit bit of issue I do believe.

Thank you for your response. I had done everything suggested and was receiving WhatsApp messages but nothing worked. However I had another go and reloaded, stopped notifications, left if for a couple of hours then turned them back on and suddenly within an hour I has getting text messages and WhatsApp appeared in the notifications list so I could turn them on. Don't know exactly what solved it but would just say keep trying and persevering you'll get. there in the end!

Can you explain exactly what you did for "reloaded, stopped notifications" etc?

I've my new charge5 and whatsapp doesn't appear in the app list as an option and of course I received sevarl notifications since then.

I have the same problem and I have iphone 11.

i tried all suggested solutions and nothing works. Cant see whatsapp on my app list. Were you able to find a solution?

I have the exact issues on my new Charge 5 and my iPhone 11. Very frustrating. Contacted FitBit support just told me to go through all trouble shoots and steps which I took at least 20 times. 
No call, iMessage not calendar notification at all. Can someone help?

I’ve followed every tips and troubleshooting, and still not getting any notification. My Charge 5 is brand new, bought it yesterday. Notification worked on my charge 4 but it broke. Please help!!!

I’ve had two WhatsApp messages received and it’s still not showing in the notification in Fitbit app. Where can I go to add it?
