Charge 5 won't sync to my new phone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I updated my Samsung S21 Ultra to One Ui Version 6 and now my fitbit won't sync with my phone.

Ive turned Bluetooth on and off and it still wouldn't sync. I then deleted and reinstalled the fitbit app and now it can't link with my fitbit at all.

I presume we need to wait for fitbit to release an update...but how long will this take?

Any suggestions to try and get it to reconnect?

Hi there, @Staxey123. Welcome to the FItbit Community Forums. Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out. I will do my best to help you connecting your device to your new phone.

If you're unsure whether your new phone will work with your Charge, please verify that your phone is compatible with the Fitbit app by going here fitbit.com/devices.

In addition to the steps you've done so far, I'd suggest trying the following in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Charge 5 from your old phone's Bluetooth and also from the new phone.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Charge 5.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Charge 5.
  • Once your Charge 5 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.
