Charge 5 won't sync with my iPhone

Hello I had my Charge 4 replaced recently with a Charge 5. Despite following all the tips in the forum it still doesn't sync so I have to disconnect the Bluetooth on my iPhone every time. I've shut down everything and reinstalled but same problem. The Charge 4 didn't have a sync issue! Any ideas

Thanks in advance

Hi there, @FMQ. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your new Charge 5 before reaching out.

While reading your posts above, I was wondering if you did remove your old Charge 4 from your Fitbit account and phone's Bluetooth settings?

It seems that your Charge 5 cannot connect properly to your Fitbit app since you haven't yet forgotten the connection between your old Charge 4 and the phone's Bluetooth which would explain the connectivity issues you're running into. With that said, try the steps below:

  • Unpair your Charge 4 and Charge 5 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Charge 5.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Charge 5.
  • Set up notifications again.
  • Once your Charge 5 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

So I had done most of the above but it turned out that another app on Bluetooth needed to be removed & my Fitbit started syncing straight away. Thanks so much for the info
