I have been unable to sync my fitbit with my phone for several weeks (since the last update?) I followed the instructions and was able to sync temporarily but the connection was lost and I have been unable to sync since.

In addition to the steps you've done, please confirm that you've tried all steps provided here Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
If the above doesn't work, please try the following in the order listed:
With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Actually, my Charge 5 won't even pair with my phone after I have done all these steps.
