Charge 5 won't track my GPS accurately while on a bike

I've only had my Charge 5 for less than 2 weeks. I have a certain route I take while riding my bike. I have different turn around points depending how far I want to go. Three days ago I took the longest route and Charge 5 said it I went 23.22 miles. Today I took the exact same route and it clocked it at 19.47 miles. That is a huge discrepancy. When I compared the map it created for both rides, today's ride did follow the bike path very well. My going out and return are on the same path, yet the map showed that at certain parts of the ride I was on streets 100 feet to a 100 yards away from the bike path.

Any ideas or explanations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, @Gafteci, welcome to the community, you do not mention which GPS setting you are using on your Charge 5. May I suggest you review these settings?

From the clock face swipe down to & touch "Settings">swipe up to and touch GPS, you can now toggle "phone" - "dynamic" - "built-in". Your best option for accuracy will be to use your phone's GPS,(larger antenna). "Dynamic" will try to use your phone but if it's not detected will revert to the built-in GPS, you will need to keep your phone within Bluetooth range, as with using the "Phone" setting. The built-in setting does have a tendency to hogg juice from the battery - I avoid it. You may find this article of interest How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?

I hope this helps.

Thanks Gr4ndp4! I just made the change to "Phone" as it was Dynamic. I do carry my phone in my seat pack so this should work.
